This Privacy Policy applies to the SMART BOOKS website at https://smartbooksforkids.com.

Danny Lenny (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”) is the controller and responsible for your personal data.

If you contact us with an enquiry, we will process the personal information that you provide, or we collect from you, including your name and e-mail address, on the basis that it is necessary for our legitimate interests in order to address or respond to your enquiry and provided this does not prejudice or harm your rights and freedoms.

If you sign up to our Smart Books Newsletter, we will use your contact details to provide you with news of details of offers and other opportunities, and on the basis that it is necessary for the legitimate interests we have in promoting our products and the sale of its goods (as described above).  We will only contact you in this way if you have opted-in to receive these types of communication. Details of how to do so, and how to opt-out of receiving details of such offers, are on relevant pages of the Smart Books Website, or will be in the forms you complete and/or the emails you receive from us.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter email at any time by following the instructions in our emails footer, or by writing to the address at the end of this Privacy Policy, and your details will be removed from our files.

Children

If you are under 18, please make sure that you obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before you provide your personal information to the Smart Books Website.

Children under the age of 13 must ask permission of an adult before sending any personal information.

Our website contains links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. Where do we store your personal data?

We store your personal data on our servers in the USA.

If you are from Europe, we will ensure that contractual or other safeguards are in place to ensure that your information is adequately protected, and that enforceable rights and effective legal remedies are available for data subjects.

Who do we share your information with?

We may disclose your personal data if we need to do so in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation or request, or where we have a legitimate interest in doing so, such as in order to enforce or apply our contract, to investigate potential breaches, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Smart Books or others. We will never sell, distribute or disclose any of your personal information (except anonymous aggregate information) with any third party without your express consent.

For our Newsletter (and related purposes) we use MailChimp – MailChimp processes personal data on our behalf under specific contracts approved by the European Commission which give personal data the same protection it has in Europe. How long do we keep personal information for?

If you contact us with an enquiry but do not enter into a contract with us, we will normally delete your personal data after six months.

Apart from the information described in this Privacy Policy, we do not maintain any personal information obtained from users through the Smart Books Website in a retrievable form.
